The Barn, Cranleigh GU6 advised their clients on how to plan and convert their double garage to create a detached ‘Barn’ style one bedroom bungalow. We advised on the ‘Laws of change of Use’  as full planning permission was not required and dealt with all Building Regulations issues and the local authority Building Inspector.

The design of 500 sqft 1 bedroom bungalow centred around a large open plan living space in the right hand garage and separated the shower room, bedroom and  utility area to the smaller left hand  garage.

The end result was the client spent £20,000 on reconfiguring a double garage, which only previous use by the owners was overflow storage, into a  rentable 1 bedroom annexe flat, yielding them a £12,000 per annum return.
